A basket casket or coffin is a natural burial container for the body; also referred to as woven burial baskets. Basket Caskets are made by hand in a variety of natural materials such as banana leaf, seagrass, willow, wicker, bamboo, hyacinth and rattan. They are naturally biodegradable and thus suitable for natural, green burial.
Actor David Carradine, of the famed television series "Kung Fu" and films "Kill Bill 1 and 2" was buried in a Banana Casket (same style shown above).
Actress Lynn Redgrave famed for work in film, television and on the stage, was buried in a Bamboo Eco Casket (same style shown above).
